Buhari To Asuu:No enrolment on IPPIS, no salary

President Muhammadu Buhari has said that no civil servant (members of the Association of Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on the payroll of the Federal Government will receive salary henceforth without enrolment on the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System.

He stated this on Thursday in his annual speech to the joint session of the two Chambers of the National Assembly which is currently ongoing.

In the highlight of the 2021 Appropriation budget being presented to the National Assembly, he explained that all sectors of the economy would get attention in 2021 budget allocation, but reiterated the Federal Government’s position on payment of salaries of University lecturers, saying there was no going back on the decision to use the IPPIS for payment of all categories of civil servants.

He advised the leadership of ASUU to understand the position of government, which he believes would remove fraud from the educational institutions.

According to our informant umerah Rapheal President Buhari earlier arrived the National Assembly at about 11.00am and was received by the joint session of the two legislative Chambers.

He went further to state that President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the budget of the Ministry of Education has been increased by 65 per cent in 2021 budget to develop the country’s education sector.

RECALLED THAT THE Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike over disagreement with the Federal Government on the mode of payment of lecturers.

Buhari, during the presentation, which lasted for about 50 minutes, said revenue generation was the major challenge facing his administration.
