FUOYE and EKSU Students protest, deny military, police officers movement

EKITI – In lieu of the lingering strike action embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, students of FUOYE, Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti state and EKSU, Ekiti state University, came out in mass for a peaceful protest.

Earlier this week, YOMSDIRECT MEDIA reported that FUOYE and EKSU Students plan a protest which eventually took place today, having stayed for over three months at home.

The protest which was tagged a peaceful protest began earlier today at fajuyi park, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, where students of both institutions converged at the venue for the peaceful protest.

The protest was led by the President of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Sunday Asefon, the president of the Students Union government of FUOYE, Comrade Salahudeen Teslim, student union leaders of EKSU and several students of both institutions were gathered at the venue to protest and make their grievances known, YOMSDIRECT MEDIA CONFIRMED.

One of the protesters and student of FUOYE, known to be Bolaji, told YOMSDIRECT MEDIA ” The protest was peaceful as promised, at a point everywhere in Fajuyi was blocked, vehicles of various kinds were denied passage, police officers and military personnels were denied passage as well, students took to the main road and were playing football”

The protest that occured today, May 19, 2022 was confirmed to be free and fair as no unnecessary gunshot fired by the armed forces or any means of dispersing the students who denied them passage
