UNILORIN VC OFFICIALLY ADDRESSES THE PUBLIC ON THE POST-UTME EXAM

The University of Ilorin on a Show today “Talk to the VC” held to mark the University of Ilorin Fm anniversary invited the VC, on the show, the Vice-Chancellor “Prof. Sulyman Age Abuldkareem” addressed the question “If the University of Ilorin would hold a Post-Utme Examination or just a screening ”

According to him, the institution is looking at a way to allow the current students to take their exams and conclude the last semester. [Continue below]

“We have been working on mediums to create standardize virtual learning classroom to accommodate students, due to the issue of Corona Virus, there is this fear of letting a Large chunk of student resume, so the varsity is looking at a safe way to resume”

“As regards the Admission of the incoming aspirants, Our initial agreement with Jamb and even the Ministry of Education is to allow these students register for their examinations, and our initial agreement was to give room for these students to register since these students would still be writing O’level Examinations, which will last on until September and even November, before these periods we can recommend our candidates for admission without having to conduct an examination”[Continue below]Sponsored

“However, as it stands we have not reached a final conclusion because it is not a decision for the VC. to make alone, what we are saying is, if the school is setting up mediums that will be used to conduct semester examinations for the current students who are yet to conclude their semester there would be no time to conduct exams for the prospective aspirants and we may be forced to suspend post-utme exams for this session.”

Furthermore, the VC. emphasized that candidates should be looking around November for the Admission process and within which the Management would make a decision.
