‘Imbibe the lessons of the just-concluded Lenten season’ FUOYE VC tells staffs as christians celebrate Easter

The Vice-Chancellor Federal University Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State, Professor Abayomi Sunday Fasina has felicitated with members of staff and the university community, urging them to reflect on the reason for the season by showing love, forgiveness and compassion to one another.
Fasina, who described the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a symbol of sacrifice and renewed hope, enjoined staff and the university community to rekindle their trust and hope for the future.

The VC in his Easter message said it was time for the members of staff to imbibe lessons offered by the just-concluded Lenten season in commemoration of the 40days fast of JESUS which began on Ash-Wednesday.
According to Fasina, who described the death and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST as a symbol of sacrifice, said it was time for renewed hope with a view to taking FUOYE to greater heights despite various challenges facing the university.
In a statement by FUOYE Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, Fasina said ” on behalf of the Governing Council, Senate, Management, Staff and the Students of our great university, I felicitate with all Christians in the University community and by extension Nigeria as we celebrate Easter in the memory of our LORD.”
He went on: ” I enjoy all and sundry to imbibe the lessons of the just-concluded Lenten season in commemoration of the 40days fast of JESUS CHRIST our Saviour which commenced on Ash-Wednesday and ended on Holy Saturday.
” The death and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST which represents victory over death, has also brought to the limelights various lessons of love, sacrifice and a rekindled hope for mankind.
“We must imbibe the lessons this season has offered to us.
” However, I am passionately appealing to FUOYE’s members of staff to embrace enormous sacrifice with a view to making the institution greater than we met it knowing full well that JESUS’ resurrection is a symbol of victory over sin, sickness and satan.
“As a university desirous of growth and development, we must endeavour to embrace hope, hardwork and above all, invest our trust in God to emplace FUOYE of our dream.
“As we mark the death and resurrection of JESUS, let us show love to people around us the same way JESUS sacrificed HIS life for the salvation of mankind.
” We must, however, reflect at all time the values of peace and sacrifice as we celebrate with one another.”
